We currently have a food shortage for the following items : -
Tinned fruit, veg and meat, sugar (500gms) , UHT milk, long life fruit juice, pasta sauce, sponge and rice puddings, mashed potato, Jam/marmalade and coffee. We have a surplus of pasta, tea and breakfast cereals - but all items are gratefully recceived - thank you!
Lord Haskel, a deputy speaker of the House of Lord's, visited the Richmond foodbank at the end of November. Lord Haskel was seeking to put a question before the house which might stimulate an inquiry into UK food poverty. Earlier in the month we had a visit from Stephen Knight, the Lib Dem London Assembly member speaking for economic, environmental and health issues.
Our next supermarket collection is Saturday July 5th 2014 at Tesco, Twickenham.(Mogden Lane). Please contact email@example.com if you are able to volunteer for a two hour shift. Volunteers can either man our collection point to receive and sort food, or hand customers our shopping list and request items for purchase and donation. We will expect to collect about 1500kgs of food on this day which will be sufficient for about a month of our local.opertaion.
The supermarket will also add 30% in value as a cash donation.

The Centre is one of 5 local charities to receive 1% of their opening day proceeds and the foodbank will collect surplus food Monday to Thursdays. Thank you Wholefoods!
