Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. Our wonderful community of volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and we could not offer our services without them.

We currently have 7 volunteer vacancies in the Borough of Richmond.

How to Get Involved

To register your interest in any of the volunteer positions below, please head to our charity website here and fill in the Volunteer Form. Please include your preferred Volunteer Role in the subject line.

Hampton Foodbank Centre Volunteer x1

As one of our most long-standing food banks in the Borough, our busy Hampton site are looking for a new volunteer. This is a dynamic role, where you will be both chatting with guests and packing food parcels, as well as helping on the back-end with keeping our IT system updated, checking off foodbank parcels as fulfilled, along with other key responsibilities.

Gail’s Collection Volunteer x1 or x2

Become a part of our busy logistics team by taking on this Collection role, picking up surplus food (bread and pastries) from the Gail’s in St Margaret’s and dropping this to Vineyard Community Centre for use across our charity services. Wednesday & Sunday evenings, starting W/C Dec 9. We are open to one volunteer to collect on both days, or one volunteer for each day.

Ham Foodbank Volunteer x2

Our new Ham team are looking for keen volunteers to support in this front-of-house role, interacting with guests, packing up food parcels and providing a friendly face in times of personal crisis.

Sainsbury’s Collection Volunteer x2

Our local Sainsbury’s by Richmond Station is kindly offering its surplus food to those in need, so we are in need of an organised Collection Volunteer to help us transport stock from the Sainsbury’s to Vineyard Community Centre.

Other ways you can support us

If you would like to support our work, but don’t feel comfortable volunteering during foodbank sessions, please consider making a donation if you can. More details on how to donate can be found here.

Alternatively, you can volunteer your time in the Vineyard Community Charity Shops in Richmond. Proceeds from these shops are used to support all Vineyard Community & Richmond Foodbank services, empowering those who are experiencing homelessness, food poverty and social isolation.
